a little musing, a little philosophizing, a little ranting, a whole lot of nothing, really.

Feeling better thanks to good friends.

ARGH!

I'm not unhappy, per se. I'm just really bummed. It feels like I can't make mistakes, and I know it's not a big deal to almost anyone else but me... but I feel so stupid all the time. And I'm not a liar.

Miscommunication sucks. Even when I'm having fun, it's one of those stupid things (that I know will blow over) that sticks in the back of my mind.

On a better, less juvenile blogger note:

I'm wearing a stripey shirt.

It sucks

- when you're jetlagged
- when you hurt someone you really care about, especially when your intentions are good
- when you realize that your good intentions really sucked
- when you get other people involved in your problems
- when you have no sense of discretion at all
- when you take on more projects than you can do
- when you want to help a friend but can't
- when you misunderstand someone
- when everyone leaves for the summer
- when you go crazy temporarily around someone you don't know well, who then thinks you're actually crazy, and it's far too late to fix it.

I wish I was in Australia again.

It doesn't suck

- when you have people you can be really honest with
- when you can finally forgive yourself for being a foolish dummy and making dumb errors
- when people call you and sign up for your day camp...
- when people believe in you
- when the water comes out of the fridge door
- when you read books you loved as a child
- when you're wearing your new favourite shirt
- when you get two really good hugs in one night

I love here too.

I'm in Australia.

Yesterday we flew from Melbourne to Hamilton Island and took a boat to Airlie Beach where we're staying. It's all tropical. Right now it is raining, but super sunny.

The time difference is insane. Backpacking is insane. The amount of money I've spent on transport is insane. But it's all good.

I've only been gone since Sunday and I already miss everyone like mad. It's 8:30 am here, and Jesse's sleeping, so I'm killing some time to email my terrified father and tell him I'm not dead. We're looking into sailing trips today, two nights and three days in the Whitsunday Islands, before we begin working our way South.

I hope everything at home is good, I wish you all were here.
